Work trucks, service vans and company pickups

Contractors, plumbers, landscapers, utility crews and sales reps drive for work every day.

Common work vehicles

  • Contractor and plumbing vans
  • Landscaping trucks pulling trailers
  • Utility and cable trucks parked in the road
  • Dump trucks and construction vehicles near job sites
  • Company pickups and cars driven by employees

Trailers and unsecured loads

Trailers that come loose and equipment or debris that falls onto the road cause serious crashes. Georgia law requires loads to be secured. When a load falls from a work truck, the company may be responsible for how it was loaded.

Work zones

Crews working in or near traffic must set up warning signs and traffic control. When that's done wrong, drivers and pedestrians get hurt.

Photograph the scene: cones or no cones, warning signs, the trailer hitch, chains and straps. These details disappear when the crew cleans up.
